Winter Tour – 2023-4

Dates for the winter tour are now shaping up. The following dates have been confirmed:

2023
October 7th – Leytonstone (private event).
November 11th – McChuills, Glasgow – tickets here.
November 25th – Lewes – The Constitution Club – tickets here.
December 9th – The Old Crown, Digbeth, Birmingham  – tickets here.
December 13th – Half Moon, Putney.
December 21st – Dingwalls, Camden Town – the Christmas Shindig – tickets. here.

2024
February 11th – The Dublin Castle (matinee show).
March 9th – Birmingham (TBC).
March 16th – Brighton.
March 17th – Half Moon, Putney.

Later dates – details to follow:

June 8th – Eastbourne.
November 16th – Worthing.

Winter 2023 tour begins to take shape

The Pogue Traders will shortly be announcing the details of a number of winter 2023 dates.

The first confirmed date is Saturday 23rd November at Lewes Con Club. Tickets are available here.

NB, for the avoidance of doubt, “Con” is short for “Constitutional” and not any of the other ‘Cons’ that Con could be short for.

St Patricks Tour 2023 – dates finalised

The Pogue Traders now have three dates fixed in and around St Patrick’s Day 2023.

Tickets for The Half Moon in Putney Thursday 16th March – can be found here.

Tickets for Concorde 2 in Brighton – Friday 17th March – can be found here.

Tickets for McChuills in Glasgow – Saturday 18th March – can be found here.

December gigs in Liverpool and Putney confirmed.

The evening also features an hour-long Q&A with Shane MacGowan’s official biographer Richard Balls discussing his recent book ‘A Furious Devotion: The Life of Shane MacGowan‘ with Maeve Murphy, award-winning Director and author of “Christmas At The Cross“. Both will be in conversaton.

Pogue Traders 40th anniversary of The Pogues

On the 4th October 1982, a new group, originally known as Pogue Mahone played their first gig. James Fearnley, Shane MacGowan, Spider Stacy and Jem Finer took the stage at The Pindar of Wakefield (now known as The Water Rats) in London’s Kings Cross.

40 years later, to the day, the UK’s leading Pogues tribute band The Pogue Traders are returning to the same venue for a wider celebration of the band’s music and their impact on the world’s music scene. Tickets are now on sale here.

The evening’s celebrations will open with an hour-long Q&A with Shane MacGowan’s official biographer Richard Balls discussing his recent book ‘A Furious Devotion: The Life of Shane MacGowan‘ with Maeve Murphy, award-winning Director and author of “Christmas At The Cross“. Both will be “In Conversation”. Their books will be available to buy and get signed as well !

Supporting The Pogue Traders for the night is from Paul ‘Mad Dog’ McGuinness And Band who toured with Shane MacGowan for almost a decade as a founder member of The Popes.

Exact stage times for each part of the evening are yet to be finalised (Check with venue or Facebook nearer date). Tickets are £15 / £20 On the door.
